Individual Didgeridoo Masterclasses, a unique experience to improve your skills

After more than 20 years dedicated to the practice and teaching of the didgeridoo, with more than 1000 students accompanied around the world, I invite you to share a 2-hour individual masterclass at my home in Burgundy. Attetnion, it’s going to blow!

A unique experience for progress

A tailor-made approach

During these two privileged hours, we’ll work together on YOUR objectives. Together, we’ll try to understand your needs, your hang-ups and, above all, what makes you want to play the didgeridoo.

Because by finding what motivates you, you’ll find the best motivation to keep on blowing.

And if you’re reading these lines, you know as well as I do how good it feels to settle down and take a breather… We forget everything, and we’re here and now.

If you’re familiar with my work, I’ve based all my teaching on close observation of the body and its relationship with the instrument. Observing your body ensures that you stay within concrete, palpable explanations that anchor you in the present (what could be more present than the body here and now!).

More than a course, a moment of sharing

During these one-to-one masterclasses, we always start with a convivial moment over coffee or tea. It’s an opportunity to understand your expectations, to identify precisely the technical aspects you’d like to learn more about, and to make sure we’re both moving in a direction that speaks to you and motivates you.

Why a 2-hour course?

Because it’s good to take your time!

Here you can relax, take a breath and, in short, take some (real) time for yourself.

I’ve also found that intensive, one-on-one coaching leads to spectacular progress!

These two hours are a real boost to your progress:

  • Precise identification of your sticking points
  • Customized solutions tailored to your expectations and gaming habits
  • Directly applicable technical advice
  • Caring, professional support (sounds obvious, but it’s worth mentioning ;-))

My name is Gauthier, and I'm the founder of Wakademy.

You might be wondering who I am to offer these 2 hours of lessons! So let me quickly introduce myself in a few lines.

My name is Gauthier Aubé, and I’ve been playing the didgeridoo for 20 years.

I’ve released three albums, given numerous concerts and had thousands of students around the world. I’ve been lucky enough to teach and play in most European countries, from Russia to Taiwan, via Lisbon, London, Budapest, Amsterdam, Berlin, and many more!

Since launching Wakademy in 2018, I’ve mainly been giving courses in France, Switzerland and Belgium. Not out of chauvinism, but I try to limit my travels in the face of an increasingly battered planet.

I also wanted to give everyone the chance to learn the didgeridoo directly online by creating complete video training courses.

For more than 20 years, I have literally dedicated my life to the didgeridoo and I work hard to popularize the learning of this wonderful instrument to as many people as possible.
So much for the broad strokes!

Your feedback... ! 🙏

"Gauthier is an excellent teacher, empathetic and very critical. For my part, he quickly understands my needs and the evolutionary path I want to take. Always caring, he seriously analyzes everyone's game and gives targeted advice and exercises to help his student evolve in the right direction. If you're serious, Gauthier will prevent you from stagnating and help you stay on track. Thank you Gauthier, without you I could never have made this progress."

Laurent S.

"If Gauthier didn't exist, we'd have to invent him. Five stars aren't enough, we need many, many more, because his training, whether in video or in training courses, is so very, very good."

Patrick G.

"I've taken part in 3 workshops with Gauthier and each time I've made great progress in my playing. He's a great didgeridoo teacher, but not only that... he's also a very nice and inspiring person !!!!"

Robain

"It simply doesn't get any better than Wakademy. Not only is Gauthier incredibly friendly, he's also an exceptionally expert teacher!"

Joffrey M.

"Gauthier is an outstanding teacher. His thorough research and understanding of each form of didge playing, plus his judicious and precise analysis, makes it possible to learn didge in a very personalized way. Combining work and pleasure with what our bodies are naturally capable of, makes this training exceptional. I highly recommend his approach and sympathy."

Emy Dhd

"I followed this channel as soon as I received my first Didg. And it was thanks to Gauthier's videos + a little practice that I was able to learn and progress quite quickly. The lessons are very well done, the learning process is gentle and the pedagogy simple and effective. I also think that Gauthier's friendliness in his videos has something to do with it! Thanks again."

Frequently asked questions for Didgeridoo masterclasses

Do I need to bring my didgeridoo?

Yes, you do need to bring your own didgeridoo. I don’t have a didgeridoo to lend for a lesson, and it’s much nicer for you to blow on your usual instrument (even if it’s basic! There’s always something to work with).

What level is required?

All levels welcome! Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player, I adapt the masterclass to your level and your specific needs. Each course is unique and deserves my special attention!

How do I book a masterclass?

It’s very simple:
1. Contact me directly either by e-mail or by WhatsApp here
2. We’ll arrange a date for the class.
3. Payment is made on the day of the masterclass
It’s that simple!

Do you offer online or video courses?

No, masterclasses only take place face-to-face. I’m a bit like everyone else: I prefer face-to-face contact, it’s much nicer (and I’m a bit of a screen overdose, to be honest ^^).

How long does a masterclass last?

The masterclass lasts 2 hours, including a friendly welcome over coffee/tea and an intensive (!) work session.

Where does the masterclass take place?

At my home in Malâin (20 minutes from Dijon, France), in a quiet and rather pleasant environment (my room dedicated to music). I’ll send you the exact address when you book.

Is there any follow-up after the masterclass?

The masterclass is designed as a complete, self-contained session. You’ll leave with concrete exercises and personalized advice on how to continue your progression. I’ll send you a link to keep for yourself to a page that will bring together all the rhythms and exercises we’ve seen during the 2 hours we’ve spent together. You won’t forget a thing! 😉

Can a masterclass be cancelled or postponed?

Yes, it is possible to postpone your masterclass in case of unforeseen circumstances. Just give us at least 48 hours’ notice.

Unanswered question?

Please do not hesitate to contact me directly if you have any further questions. It will be my pleasure to answer you.
